Gujarat Congress blasted over Narendra Modi for not giving Gandhi, Nehru names to schemes announced in the state

NEWS IN BRIEF - POLITICS

Gujarat Congress leaders alleged that Narendra Modi's behavior seems suspicious as in his term he never gave names of Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru to any of the state sponsored scheme, bridge, road or any public utility.

"We are doubtful of the intentions of Narendra Modi as he may be thinking of wiping out the great names of Gandhis and Nehrus first from Gujarat and then from the nation. We are seriously alleging him over his anti-India behavior for not giving the names of Gandhis and Nehrus to any of the schemes or any infrastructural construction," said Gujarat Congress President Arjun Modhwadia.

Modhwadia was refering from a research made by Times Of India which reported that no street, no lamp, no corporation office, no electricity related programme or even no bus stop was named on any of the Gandhis or Nehrus.

"This hurts," said Modhwadia "Forget Mahatmaji and Indiraji, he hasn't even considered Rahulji's name for bijli scheme. Even his Sadbhavana Yatra looks very much half hearted due to the absence of the name Rahul Gandhi Pad Vikas Yatra."

While BJP is for 16 years in Gujarat, Narendra Modi was Chief Minister for past 10 years.

Modhwadia, however, guaranteed Gujarat population that if Congress comes to a power in the state, it would stop all these anti-national activities and would give every structure a suitable Gandhi-Nehru family name.
